LNT, what does it mean and why is it so important? LNT stands for “leave no trace”.

OK, leave no trace where exactly? EVERYWHERE.

“Since 1994, Leave No Trace Center For Outdoor Ethics, a non-profit organization also known as Leave No Trace, exists to educate people about their recreational impact on nature as well as the principles of Leave No Trace to prevent and minimize such impacts.”- LNT.org

It is so important as individuals that we do what is necessary to help preserve our wildlife, our planet and our future.

It is something that has become so important to me, being someone who enjoys taking clients into the woods and various outdoor locations and enjoying it in my personal life as well. As an elopement and adventure photographer I find myself outdoors all. the. time. and these principles and the standards set by the organization have been such a good education moment. I remember to not take anything that I did not enter the location with and I do not leave anything that I came in with. Wildlife get sick and die all the time from liter and objects left in the woods and ponds and lakes by humans. We can do better and we should do better.

I am writing this not just to educate my brides and clients, but other photographers and individuals that enjoy the great outdoors as much as I do. I will continue to educate people on the matter and offer advice when I can to those who might not be aware of the impact they really have.

To sum up the important things you should take from this post

  1. DO NOT REMOVE ANYTHING YOU DID NOT ARRIVE WITH

  2. DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING BEHIND

  3. DO NOT DESTROY NATURE

It is soooo important that everyone respects their surroundings, we want to be able to use national parks and state parks and take our clients to these beautiful locations, but if we destroy those locations then we will be forced to refrain from using them In the future!

Thanks for listening and happy trails!

xoxo,

Alyssa
